A2630 - problem with switching CPUs...
« on: January 16, 2005, 08:42:45 AM »
hi there,

i've got a problem with my A2000 with an A2630 inside.
manual told me to powercycle the system while pressing both mousebuttons.
problem is: this way i reach the normal early startup-menu, but not the selections screen for choosing 68000 or 68030 CPU.
only time i got the screen was directly after installation of the 2630 accelerator - but pulling out and in the card each time i want to switch back to original CPU can't be the way, right?

my config:
A2000
AT-Bus 2008/1,3GB HD
1 internal DD Floppy
2630 with 68030/68882fpu/68030mmu/4MB
3.1 ROMS (Kick 40.63)
CBM Bridgeboard (XT)

regards,
-Case
-in use: A1200@50Mhz / A2000-030er
-collection: too much to tell. ;)

I used to have an A2630. IIRC you just depress the right mouse button at boot to get into the A2630 CPU selection. Once there, there was a key combination that got you into a prompt, but I don't remember which keys... That prompt wasn't very useful anyway, I think I used it to query the card which version it was or something.
