I think hyperion are still offering a repair service for broken cyberstormppc cards. Try to contact timothy de groote (timdg(at)hyperion-entertainment.com) as he is the one in charge of these things iirc.

but . . .are you sure?!?

Have you contacted Ron?

Intermittent problems with CSPPC, often are located at:

Local bus connector (reseat the card and check if the spacers are the right one)

and 060 socket.

Before send the card to Amiga.fr, ask to a technician to leave out the 060 CPU from the socket and reinsert it again.

Consider that Hyperion "check-test" only the board and then will send it to Amiga.fr.

this card isn't from ron, it used to belong to redrumloa, I've tried re-inserting it in the cpu slot, I can get it to work sometimes, but my ide hd isn't coming up now lol so no boot.

Robert, there have been so many technical questions from you lately...if you are an Amiga newbie, a CSPPC is a dangerous hardware to own, without knowing how to handle it properly, and yes, a whole book on this could be written.

I am starting to suspect that all (or at least most) of your hardware problems are the cause of improper instalation or simply lack of the basic knowledge.

Well, if he has the money for it, who cares? :-)  I've trashed a lot of hardware during my learning curve, but I definately did it with cheaper stuff. :-(

I don't feel so bad if it's x86 equipment.  It goes obsolete in six months anyway.

@ Robert

Don't give up so soon. I had similar problems with my PPC and it turned out to be something stupid.

Try this setup:

PPC (with all the ram that came with it), Floppy drive, no HD, no other boards.

Then see if you get the purple Kickstart screen.

I also don't think you broke the PPC.

Hehe well I'm kinda a newbie... but not totally, just new to the 4000 and the PPC side of things, it turns out it's my IDE drive that's at fault, as the premenu recognises my scsi drive on cybppc.device but not the ide drive. Don't worry about the health of the CSPPC, I've been careful whilst handling it, and been gentle... lol worry not.

Robert

Edit: Well, I wouldn't say lack of basic knowledge, I've been messing with x86 stuff for years, most of my problems thus far have been down to software installation, and not hardware or poor installation of equipment, please don't be so quick to call me a dumbass  :-P

Check the capability of your power supply - that's almost always the problem I have with accelerators.
