They don't mention if it's wearing artificial socks.

Hum,
I would expect silicon artificial life to be here first…
It's time to start thinking about how we might grant legal rights to computers.

See!

fascinating, and a subject that I do have a lot of interest in.

When one of our creations in no uncertain terms tells us that it does not wish to die.. What will our reaction be. Its a question that could take an individual a lifetime to ponder, and be no nearer the answer at the moment of his or her death then when they first picked up the question.

to quote a charactor from Babylon 5 - G'Kar

"It is one of those questions that will either die trying to answer or the answer itself drive you mad!"

(Or something very much like that)

I for one welcome our artificial overlords!
Blessed Be,

Greetings,

Just as I've pointed in the other thread. Humans will be obsolete as well. Human beings will be a thing of the past.

Not unless, of course, it has the ability to co-exist with us. Bonding, if you like, and has the capability to accelerate human defficiencies/inperfections in many many aspects. I'd say, that will be beneficial to all.

We'll have the option to UPGRADE if needed. In turn, human beings will be immortal, if not have much longer uhm.. 'shelf' life.

Interesting times ahead. :-)

Regards,

Gizz

Damn right they will, apparently there`s a 1 in 455 chance of the human race becoming extinct within the next 100 years.  :-o  ( I presume that the odds get progressively worse for each century after.)
On schedule, and suing
