AmigaDOS and hard drives
« on: November 25, 2004, 10:13:15 AM »
Can anyone tell me the largest disk a kickstart 2.0 machine can handle? I've currently got a 500MB disk which is fine, but would 1GB be ok? Anyone got any experience with this on an A500 or A2000, say?

I believe with KS 2.04 rom, the partition max size is 2.1 gig with an upper limit of 4.1 gig per drive.

Keep the main workbench partition size rather small if able, because an invalidated partition that is large in size takes AGES with AmigaDOS to self repair upon next boot, been warned :-)
Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example
