Hi. I need advice on a good place to order oscillators between 50 and 80mhz and a socket for them, preferably from Europe. I also need an LT1585LM 3,3V.

Finally if anyone can put up or knows where I can find a picture of the Blizzard 1260 back side you be saving my Blizzard1260 as I got some tracks damaged here and need to know where they go.

Hi

i'm trying to find a LT1585CM 3,3V too but even RS Components, doesn't have it in stock.

It is a D2PAK package (SMD).

I have found a similar component at RS

LM1084is-3.3 (5 Amp)

cod. 349-4379

but i'm not 100% sure of it.

Take a look and let me know.

Bye

PS- i'm not be able to find another component for the CSPPC.

It is a LTC1430CS (SO16)

EDIT- the exact cod of the 3.3 voltage regulator is:

LT1585CM 3,3

@Framiga

I'm not by any means an electronics expert. The specs seem the same but I wouldn't risk. Maybe some of the other guys in here can confirm.
I'm gonna continue searching for the part with that code and if I find one I'll post here...

Hi. I found some... :-)

www.sipex.com

They also have representatives in Portugal and Italy :-D
Check them out HERE

I'm gonna try to check the prices now, hope I don't get a surprise...
Maybe these things are in other places as well anyway...

yes it seems OK :-)

It is only 3 Amp but for a 1260 it is enough.

Bye

Hi,

the LM1084 should work fine in place of the LT1585, just double check the pinouts.

ESR (www.esr.co.uk) sell Crystal oscillator modules at 50, 64 and 66 MHz in single quantities. Rapid Electronics (www.rapidelectronics.co.uk) sell 50, 66 and 80 MHz oscillators.

The LTC1430 is a switchmode power converter controller, unfortunately discontinued by RS components!
You could try requesting a few samples?

Hi Stedy

about the LTC1430 . . . yes i know :-(

As you already seen, there is available the LTC1435 that is pin compatible but variable (if needed).

Thanks :-)

I decided I'll go for the LM1084 too cause it's easier to get but which package should I get? These are the ones available:
- D2PAK
- T0263
- T0220

The original (LT1085CM3.3) is a D2PAK

Hi Jose,

have you got the new IC regulator?

BTW . . what's wrong with the old one? it was broken? (as NO ~3.3volt output) or only with a heavy loss in the output voltage? (less than 3,25x volt)

Let we know :-)

Yes, I got it today :-)  I bought it from RC components in Spain. Actually I had to order 5 cause that was the minimum order they accepted, and also had to pay shipping costs to Portugal.
I'm using it to try to upgrade a Blizzard 1240 to a 1260. That component is not installed in the 1240 but there's a place for it. I don't have much faith in the final result though to be honest, a friend of mine already broke some tracks :-)

Pay much attention during the soldering.

Those large SMD device, has to be pre-heated before the soldering.

If you don't have the right tools, ask for help to a technician.

Good luck :-)
