Questions about A1200
« on: November 23, 2004, 04:43:24 PM »
Ok guys.. i'm getting closer to building my A1200T system. What do you guys recommend for IDE? I've never done IDE on an Amiga.. SCSI only, what board, etc. do you think would be good.. all I need are 1 or 2 HD's a CD-R and maybe a CDROM drive. Also, does OS 3.9 support large HD's? I remember something about partitions not being able to be bigger than 4GB. I'd like to assemble all the hardware and just plop 3.9 on it.  :-D

IDE really sucks on the Amiga. CPU hogging, slow... if you have a Blizzard, I really recommend getting hold of the SCSI kit. If you really must use IDE, elbox have just released an updated FastATA (PowerFlyer) for the 1200..
