Catweasel and Buddah problems
« on: November 21, 2004, 07:11:08 PM »
I am posting this in both the hardware and software forums because it applies to both.  I have a Catweasel controller in my A2000.  I recently installed it while making other changes.  Since I had the beast apart I decided to see how I liked the IDE control feature and installed the Buddha software that came with the Catweasel for operating an IDE CD ROM drive.  I have several SCSI CD drives in my external tower and there is really is no room in the A2000 for this drive but since I had one I was curious to try it because I have another Catweasel that is going into my second A2000 and I was considering putting a CD drive in it.  I was about ready to close up my 2000 and put it in the equipment rack.  I pulled the CD ROM out and decided to test everything one more time before I put the cover on.  It wouldn’t boot up right and it kept looking for the drive.  I decided that it must be in the user startup.  I looked and sure enough there it was.  I removed it and tried to reboot.  I got the same result.  I went back and looked in the user startup and all reference to the Buddha was gone but it is still looking for it.  The Buddha disk has no un-install feature so that idea is not an option.  Any ideas or suggestions for getting rid of this problem and getting back to square one would be greatly appreciated.  At this point my only recourse is to install everything from scratch.  That is not a job I look forward to because there is a lot of stuff on this machine including a Toaster, Studio 16 board and a PAR.  All of my software is on floppy disks except for the 3.9 OS.
