« on: February 11, 2003, 03:30:35 PM »
Hi.........
Does anyone have the docs for a HAYES
 56k Accura modem??
I need the docs for all the reguesters.
Factory settings don't cut it where I live.
I live in the country and the phone line are
not that good. I need to customize the Init string.

Have you tried:
http://www.modemhelp.org/inits/hayes.html
or
http://www.hayesmicro.com/Tech_CS/supportfiles.htm
?

Thanks...but
Yes, I checked the sites out. No help.
The companies used to give a manual with
the modem that explained the reguesters
and what they do. When the 14,400 modems
first came out I bought a Zoom, very expensive
at the time. It had a thick manual explaining
the reguesters. It took me a month to get it
right. I was running a BBS at the time and I
had alot of complaints before I got it right.
At the time it was thought the phone lines
couldn't handle 14,400. My guess is when
they come out with a 128k modem the 56k's
will work just fine. I have a 28k that works
good because (I think) it is not the state of
the art or its atleast older firmer technology.
Anyway if I can't fiddle with the reguesters I
don't think I can use it, and 28k is SLOW.
