New sig for the attitude
« on: September 18, 2004, 05:29:07 AM »
You know, I stopped the other day and started counting the average passenger cars vs the average passenger utility vehicles.  I think it's depressing to know that personal trucks, SUVs, minivans, and other gas guzzling commuter vehicles average 2 to 1 over the 30mpg + cars.  Thanks modern day media, for all the efforts and hard work you've delved into the great tragedy and irony of our personal lives.
I love the modern age world of this middle age crises America... all these SUVs driving around like there\\\'s gas to spare and then some.

This thread is evil. :D

Anywhoo, SUV's arn't evil, you just can't carry a large family, groceries, a dog and a babyseat in a Yugo.
Anyways, mine doesn't get bad mileage, it's pushing 30. (Well, not my wife's anyway, which I'm usually driving)

You probably get more room for woman, sprogs and shopping in a hatchback than a SUV. For sure the average road user doesn't need a large spare wheel, bullbars, 4 wheel drive, and rather a lot of weight in just being big.
