Supposed to be entertaining a houseguest, but he's been here for 4 months and I'm tired of it. How do you get someone who can't take a hint to leave?

He's supposed to leave when he finds a job, but he's had and quit 3 jobs in the last few months. He was offered $16/hour plus health and benefits and a company truck yesterday at Champion Homebuilders, and turned it down. He doesn't "like" working on mobil homes, he says the people there are "racist."

Hmmm...  Not sure, but while we're on the topic, think you got room for one more? I'm currently in a slump and a change of sceneray could do me some good. Plus this way, we could save time typing replies to each other and just duke it out in your back yard. What do ya say???  ;-)

He talks to my kids telling them that his predicament is due to "The man keeping him down" and I have all this damage controll to dish out to my kids telling him he's a useless bum that shouldn't be listened to.

Of course you know, T_Bone, that if you toss his sorry ass out your kids will realize that "the man" is really you! And if you don't toss him out then your kids will think your a softy and walk all over you (or even worse, suspect you to be a closet democrat!!! :-o). So which is the lesser of two evils??? :-?

The crap he's trying to fill my kids head with isn't really left or right, it's more of a "Don't try to succeed in life, because 'they' won't let it happen anyway" theme, with a hint of some militant racist philosophy. I talked to him about it and told him I didn't appreciate it, and he continued, so I finally got the nerve to kick him out.

I'm sure I'll be hearing from the mother-in-law soon, and she'll just reinforce his twisted thinking anyway. Hell, the way he is is mostly her falt, let her deal with him.

I don't understand how people can go through life like that. it's almost as if he'd rather fail on purpose just so he can justify his anger at everyone. meanwhile everyone he wants to be mad at bends over backwards to help him out. It's sad.

Yup, sometimes it's best to get She Who Must Be Obeyed to sort it out. I'm all for the woman kicking up a bit of dust every now and then, it is a good sight...and it takes some stress off you too.
