What kind of memory does an A600 use, and where could I buy some (2nd hand or new).  Thanks!

Main option is 1MB of 16bit memory via the trapdoor slot.

www.analogic.co.uk

sell such items for just under £17

The other options are the

Apollo 620 020/25Mhz support for FPU  8MB 32-bit Ram

Apollo 630 030/40Mhz MMU support FPU 32MB 32-bit Ram

You might have to look on Amibench or or Ebay though as I don't think
anyone stocks them anymore.

The standard 68000 A600 has 1Mb of chip mem on board, which can be expanded to a
maximum of 2Mb by adding the 1Mb A601 trapdoor expansion (with optional clock
battery).

You can address up to 4Mb of extra memory using the PCMCIA slot, but this is
hideously slow, and it's hard to find a compatible card.

If you want to expand to a decent amount of memory and have reasonable speed,
then get an A630 accellerator, most can address up to 32Mb.
