I see this often, one seller will cut and paste information from another seller. However usually they will update, change or customise the listing somewhat so it's not a direct word for word copy. Below I submit for you, a word for word copy of one of my items.

My item

The clone

The only difference? The picture and his shiiping information. The auction description and links are a direct cut and paste. Do I care? Naah not really in this case, I just find it funny.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

It's happened to me too, with a Commodore 1942 monitor. The seller copied and pasted the text AND the four pictures... which (in addition to the monitor) featured my bedroom carpet and computer desk in the background! I e-mailed the seller telling him to remove the item, but didn't get a reply. I didn't realise I could report him to eBay at the time, otherwise I most certainly would have done!

Steve.

It happened to me too, when I was selling ZIP ram. I reported the seller, of course.
It's amazing how lazy those people are to do their own research, and wording.

Its an easy way of listing stuff it saves a lot of time and the other person might have a better description than what you would write yourself . :-)
