Cybervision 64/3D Problem
« on: July 17, 2004, 09:41:26 PM »
I just installed a Cybervision 64/3D with Scandoubler into my 4000T. And now I have a weird problem. When I cold boot or rebbot alls I get is a black screen. If I wait a few seconds after the Harddrive stops and press Both mouse buttons the Workbench screen appears.. I'm running the card in 800x600 16bit mode.. Is this normal? Is there a fix? Any and all help is appreciated....

Thanks,
Greg

Wow, never heard of that before.  I've got a CV64-3D in my A2000, when first trying to set it up I got a black screen on bootup, but I think the machine was trying to find the driver but not finding it.  Finaly figured it out with help from all the folks here, been fine since.  I'm sure someone will be able to help, keep the faith.  Best regards...Art

Do you run CGFX or P96?

I recall something similar in setting up my CV3D. When I first installed the driver, the system would not boot straight up. On a native screen there was a requester asking what my monitor's default capabilities were - VGA, NTSC, or PAL, I think. Once I clicked something and defined some screen modes, the problem disappeared.

So:
Check the native output on a 15KHz monitor.
Make sure the CVision3D monitor driver has an icon - mine didn't by default, and that was causing some problems.
Check the Passthrough ENV variables.
Make sure there are some screenmodes defined in CGXMode.

Hope this helps!

Hmm... Yeah.  Also, make sure you have your monitor plugged into the scandoubler's output, and not the CV3D's native output -- otherwise any native Amiga screens will show as black / no output.  Not that I've ever hastily plugged the monitor into the wrong output while not paying attention... :-)  (whistles innocently)
