Sony FDD on Amiga 1200T
« on: April 30, 2004, 01:16:55 PM »
Hey ho chaps!

Just managed to salvage an old Olivetti 386 PC unit. The monitor works very nice indeed on my a1200T. Sweet. I also salvaged the floppy drive out of it. Its a sony drive, sorry i dont have a model number.

Basically, its kinda like the drive that Doomy was babbling on about, (teac) with jumper settings on the back. Does this mean that there is 1/2 a chance it will work on the a1200T?

Oh, and also the 386? It runs a lot better now, all smashed up.

One less M$ box to plague the world.

Cheers dudes!

Indeed!!!

Works better now with some holes in the mobo for extra cooling i say.
You should see the airflow it gets, running outside in the rain and all.

But back to the point :-)

I wanna get this FDD to work as my a1200 one is lacking a faceplate and looks sad in the tower....

Hey!

Sorry, no thats a Teac drive whereas mine is a Sony one. Basically it looks a bit simular (i was just using that picture of doomie's as an example of kinda where the jumpers are).

Any info on where to set the jumpers is appriciated! I haven't moved them yet from where they were on the Olivetti 386 Winblows box.
