« on: March 14, 2004, 11:01:52 AM »
Hi guys

My PowerTower PSU has gone to heaven. And from what I've heard of the company I'll need to get a new one from in the UK, I'll be pushing up daisy's before it arrives. Afew months ago I upgraded my PC so now I have a spare PC ATX 350W PSU could I fit this PSU into my powerTower without causing any damage to my Amiga or card?????? Thanks in advance for any advice :-)

Ok I checked out that topic and to be honest it doesnt really tell me how use a atx in my powertower,  I thought about buying a ready made atx2at adaptor from eyetech and thought £20.00 thats not to bad until, i went to the checkout £19.95 for the adaptor,£5.00 p+p and £17 for a small order charge.

So I opened my powertower and found the power lead which connects str8 into the atx power supply and has a p9 and p8 connection at the end and most of the colours match at both connections (My power tower lead looks just like this http://www.quietpc.com/uk/images/atatxsm.jpg) is this a atx2at adaptor I already have or it it just a standard powertower power lead.

I was either brave or stupid but I tryed the atx power supply in my amiga and it booted up fine and switched on and off with the power switch on the tower and the psu. So i didnt want to keep it in until I made sure it was ok too

!!!

I never noticed that myself.  Just shined a flashlight into my own powertower and I'm looking at the label on my PSU:

"Octek X20 ATX Power Supply Model No.: X20"

This psu what originally came with my PowerTower, and my power cabling looks just like yours!
