Interested in buying or trading for an A1200
« on: April 18, 2004, 05:07:09 AM »
Hello.  Just wondering if anyone has a good basic A1200 they are trying to find a good home for?  I live in the US and I'm willing to buy a stock 1200 for a reasonable price.  Someone on eBay is attempting to sell a magic pack for $700.  I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole unless it came with a 68060 card or something.

It's time to give the A1200 I'm using back to it's original owner :-(  I have a 68030 card for the 1200 but I am interested in seeing how much someone would like to sell a 68040 card for.

I would also be happy to do a trade with someone for one of my A2500 machines.  The 2500 has a 68030 card of course plus an A2065 ethernet card and a 2088 bridgecard + 5.25" FDD and a 100MB(? don't remember offhand) SCSI HD and kick 2.04.  Also I'll throw in the Flickerfixer card.  Unfortunately I don't have the original UNIX installer disks/tape.

And what are you offering ( $ ) ?

I have an A1200 from a magic pack with the original 260mb HD, 2 years old but with few use hours on it.  It has spent most of its time sitting / or boxed (spare) because I never got around to upgrading it.  Works great, looks like new,  I'm not sure if I have the Magic Pack software though.  Don't remember seeing it in the past couple of years.

I might be willing to part with it.   :-?

I live in the USA.

Holy friggin cow.. that swap is one fine deal. Sometimes I wish I lived in the US but would be worth it even with postage and the like. Sadly though I only have two A1200's left (both being mods projects) and I won't part from any of them so, crappo. :/

Last A1200 I sold was with 480Mb HD and 020 turbo with 4Mb fastmem... went for something like 40$ but that was a mercey sale to one of my friends who up to that point only had two A500's. ;)

It's a shame you don't live in England because I'm giving away a spare A1200 with a 370Mb 2.5"Hdd!

I'm interested in a free A1200 :-)

If anyone lives nearby and wants the A1200 then they're welcome to take it off my hands for free.

It does have an issue with the keyboard connector, I lost the plastic retaining clip, but that's about it AFAIK.

Oh, and I've two A500's looking for a good home too....

I don't know what is a good price for a used A1200, maybe $200?  I'd rather do a trade for the A2500 but if that isn't feasable then I guess I would be willing to spend up to $200 for a used A1200.

My main objective is to try and find a good home for the 2500, but I also need a 1200 so it would be great if I could kill two birds with one stone :-)

An A1200 with that HD would go for about £40-60 on ebay.

I really have no need for a 2500, sorry - sounds like a nice machine.

I'll take $220 - 200 for the Amiga 1200 and 20 for S&H.  If interested PM me and we will work out the particulars.
