Hi.

I have heard that there existed a by Commodore official disk with images and instructions for how to calibrate the onboard A3000 flicker fixer.

If this is true, I would be very grateful if someone could help me get hold of this.

Do you have to calibrate the flicker fixer? What for? Is it done in software?

Hey Patrik I think I may still have it. If you dont mind waiting for wednesday I can look when I get back home. I am out at sea ATM and cant access my system. If I do its in DMS ADF format. Can you transfer it to an Amiga formated disk okay? I no longer have an Amiga so I couldnt mail it to you.

@Orjan:

A friend of mine is having problems with the image quality of his A3000 flicker fixer. It is adjusted manually, but for optimal result you need to know what you are looking for when adjusting it, which is why I am looking for this disk :).

@Acill:

Cheers :). Its no rush and the Amiga next to me just waiting to write out that disk ;).

Would those test images be usefull to other flicker fixers too?

At The Big Book of Amiga hardware there's a disk called "Test and Demo Software for the Commodore A2320 (Amber) scandoubler and FlickerFixer" available for download - that's probably what you are searching for (the A3000's onboard sd/ff is practically identical to the A2320).

Goto "Drivers and installation", then scroll down to the "Gfx_Video_NonRTG" paragraph.

From Altavista search Rainer Benda. The disk can be found over there I think.

Another good way of testing/calibrating video outputs is to use a test pattern generator, such as Barry Walker's one on Aminet:
http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/~aminet/hard/hack/TestCard.lha

With it you can check convergence, focus, horizontal and vertical sync, frequency response, etc.

Just make sure you do it on a known good monitor :-P

Hi Castellen

try Monitor Test.

Really useful, for RTG also.

Ciao
