SASG software (MagicWB, MUI, etc)
« on: January 06, 2003, 11:51:18 AM »
Has anyone managed to get a license purchased from SASG recently (actually in the last couple of years)?  I've been wanting to get a full version of MagicCX but I get no response after going through the order form on their website (I don't get billed).

What a shame :(

Those programs are absolutely awesome and it would be sucky to have to get a pirated copy, because their orderform does not work.

But then again, if they abandoned it and the amiga, I would not care. I support programs so that the programmer has the ability and care to continue programming for me. I do not support a programmer because he cared for me earlier. If I support him, it is because I want him to continue, and if he abandoned it, well, tough :-)

/me babbles on.

Sincerely,

-Kenneth Straarup.

MUI is still currently being developed. It is part of MOS and will be included with the OS4 distribution.

MagicWB is now past it's shelflife. How many people these days run 16 colour Workbenches?

MagicWB became dated for me once I installed OS3.5 and GlowIcons and got a Voodoo3. Suddenly hi-colour screens and multicolour icons without useing _any_ chipram, a world of difference.

MUI I still use as many programs need it. To be quite honest, I don't even give a thought out to it anymore. At one time eye candy was quite an important issue, but now it's what the app can do, rather than it looking good.
I used to have Birdie, VisualPrefs and MUI with quite flashy glyphs and colours, but now (after a system rebuild), plain old WB is good enough for me.
