I am selling my Amiga 1200 with monitor and 130 disks what should I expect to receive for it
Can you give me some advice on where and how much to list my Amiga 1200 I am in Epsom Surrey, and I want somebody to collect it as I don’t want to post it.
Amiga 1200 works fine includes:
130 assorted disks containing a mix of games utilities art progs etc
External power supply
Commodore Monitor (1084s)
the bug joystick
Cumana external drive
Various books including the original users guide and GFA Basic 3.5 still in plastic
Thanks for any suggestions

Take a wander over to here
https://www.amibay.com/forums/amiga/
and have a look how much an unexpanded machine and monitor is going for.

I suggest you look on eBay.

The price for the A1200 itself would be less than for one which has a RAM upgrade, an accelerator or other upgrades, such as a CF card hard drive, and/or a Gotek floppy drive emulator.

The disks aren't worth much, because all classic software is available for download as ADF files, but the disks may be unreadable and your floppy drive may no longer work.

You also have to take into account the price of the monitor separately. I think this monitor is a badged version of a Philips 8833 monitor. After that, you add both prices together.

Saying it's for collection only reduces the price by reducing the number of potential buyers. Sending a monitor by post or some other delivery service is very risky. The monitor stands a good chance of no longer working when it arrives at the other end.

Unfortunately, I can't give you a specific price.

Couple of options here:

Join Amibay or advertise on here. Remember it’s free, but if on Amibay then you have certain degree of worldwide buyers. With some protection that members are who they say they are.

EBay. Remember you have to pay extortionate end selling fees and V.A.T and put up with total time wasters who will try to whittle you down on price or ask obvious questions which you may already have in your listing. Even to the extent that people are that bored they thinks it’s a Forum and tell you how to sell on the platform and your prices are not correct 🙄

For option 1). Have a look Amibay sales forum for what things have been priced and sold at.

For option 2). Do a search on EBay for prices of what’s being sold. Remember EBay will be more pricier due to end sellers fees. If new on EBay, you won’t get an Immediate payment until roughly 30 days after an item is sold as you will be new. Also watch out for scammers who may buy your stuff and try a return after swapping parts…. also resellers who want things Cheeeeeep! So they can resell them on for a profit 🤬

Good luck 🤞🏻
