3000 Long time to boot

I have a 3000D that is taking forever to get to boot.  It takes about 3 minutes to start the boot process.

I tried both the onboard scsi and a warp engine scsi, both with the same results.  The scsi timeout is set to short.

Any ideas?

The Amiga normally takes longer to boot when the keyboard is removed, or faulty. Check the keyboard for proper funtion. Or unplug the keyboard and see if it boots quicker.

Other than that, any colours flash up on screen on cold boot?

Might also be validating corrupted disk.

Tried it with different hard drives?

If you remove all the drives is there similar delay before the "insert disk" screen appears?

Very good advice.
 
 Could be SMART issue with a drive's self test diagnostic taking a while to run, ie impending hard drive failure (Amigas don't report SMART problems as such).

 Not quite same thing as a drive validating. Helps if you can plug it into a later (non-Amiga) controller that does support SMART.

My 3000T had or have the same issue.
When I turned it on I got stuck on a black screen and I would take forever to get past it.
The boot time would increase over time and now I can't get it to boot any more.

The issue I have found is that the +5v fail on the psu to the motherboard is only delivering 0.19v
When the psu starts to deliver the correct current something happens but it drops it right away and I'm back to the black screen again.

The boot time was about 2min a cuple of month ago and now it's about 15min of it even boots.

Dont know if this helps you in any way but you might want to check it out.
