Thank you all for the replies.
I have a great pentium system with original lightwave 3d.
Is super fast and powerful, and don't need amiga for 3d/cgi.
I can even run aladdin 4d in emulation and is 20 times faster than a 040.
My amiga is excelent for what I use, brilliance, deluxe paint 4, and
moviesetter and disney animation studio for 2d cartoons.
My amiga 2000 is 68000, but is perfect for my artistic needs.
I just wanted to get an 040 to render aladdin 4d in amiga native mode,
but is not needed. I look forward to get a vampire board.
Thank you all for replying.

@rednova,

Since my Tekmagic 060 died the Vampire is really the only option. Saving funds.........

I thnk it will be some time before Vampire comes out in 200 pin CPU version for A3000/A4000.

Making it Zorro III compatible is no small job. Is a very difficult thing to get right. Vampires up to now have been for 16 bit Amiaga, only now are the people talking about A1200 version and sourcing components for a build.

Will be a stepping stone I think, to an A3000/A4000 Vampire. Best saved till last, maybe. Also technically most difficult. But what an upgrade. :) One day maybe.

OT, I don't think I could ever afford the upkeep of either A3000 or A4000 anymore. Zorro III is an expensive option, it's not just the cost of the base machine, the expansions cards are not cheap either.

A1200, Vanilla, Surf Squirrel, SD Card, KS 3.0/3.z, PCMCIA dev
A500, Vanilla, A570, Rev 5, KS 1.2/1.3 Testbench system
Rasp Pi, UAE4ARM, 3D laser scanner, experimental, hoping for AmigaOS4Arm, based on Watterott Fabscan Pi

C'mon Gertsy, you know Americans can't afford $A990 with their economy trumpily about to crash ;)

I think you will probably find the opposite is true Kesa. He may be a dick but he knows how to make money make money and make jobs make jobs. My key point was that the UX on a 4000 is faster and more usable/productive than that of a 2000, even when both have a similar 040 in them. That's one of the reasons my 2000 is sleeping in storage while my 4000 is on the desk I sit at.
@rob, You might need to be a vampire to be around long enough to see it come out. ;)

If you read into the lists of small businesses he's screwed over (hint: it's in the thousands), and the number of times he's declared bankruptcy in order to get out of paying his debts, you might feel differently about this statement. But let's not turn this thread all political, eh? ;)
