indivision mk2 issue
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:06:22 AM »
hoping someone can help, i have a dell monitor with dvi, i got one of these gismo's, stupid me has set output to HD720 and saved it, without testing, now when i turn amiga on i get nothing, does anyone know of any reset disk i can use to restore to a lower resolution. i believe the resolution is saved on the board itself and so i need to get into the tool to set it back, really difficult as i cant see anything

Just boot without start-up sequence then rename
SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys/screenmode.prefs and start normaly.

Boot holding both mouse buttons then you can select boot options. After renaming the file then boot normaly and either run the config tool and fix the screen mode or delet the config file and start over.
Good luck :)

But if it's the flash config in the Indivision then he won't see the early startup menu.

Assuming it is the the workbench config then it's easily fixable (as suggested above).  If it's the Indivision producing output incompatible with the display, I'd suggest connecting to a normal RGB (or composite?) monitor to the standard monitor port and changing the indivision settings that way (again, perhaps requiring boot without startup and renaming config file to revert back to standard PAL/NTSC output).

Selecting a screenmode that your monitor can't display and then saving it (instead of "testing" or "using" it) is a common problem on Amiga's.  It goes back for as far as there have been Amiga's and is not some new problem specifically related to the Indivision.

Here's a 3-minute YouTube video I made last year that shows how to fix it:

Ha, thanks. :)  Browse my YouTube channel, I have several other Amiga-related videos on there.  One on adjusting screenmodes with P96, one on using mode-promotion utilities, and a super-long two-part one on installing 3.9 (which I should probably update), lol.

That is if you can sift through all the roller derby videos and videos of my truck, haha.
