Using Amiga mode promotion utilities (video)
« on: December 31, 2015, 02:10:48 AM »
So I was talking to someone about mode promotion utilities a couple months ago, and I promised I'd make them a video.  Unfortunately I can't remember who that was, but here you go anyway.  I'll just stick this here.  :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBU7B_6zB3s

Enjoy, or not.  ;)  Cheers!

Thanks for the very helpful vid Mike! I always learn so much from them! Obviously I can't promote to a screen rez that I don't have available - but my Miggy2K soon will have... my most noteworthy opponent! As most peeps know, changing screen rez is a most important ability within an OS to take advantage of specific program real estate needs! :) My DOS machine is a happy animal with such capabilities! Win3.1 is a BEAST though! :roflmao: Never give up! Never surrender! BTW, I relocated the Miggy2K to the lab (that means that I will be spending all of my spare time with the A2000!) and removed both Miggy 1200's from service as Anthony from NZ has agreed to repair the MOBO's....  Everything's coming up giZmo! :)

I've only ever used ModePro, and it does everything I can imagine regarding config options.

So Yeah, 'Go ModePro, go ModePro!'

Thanks for the excelent vid Mike. It's always better to see and hear people doing something on a video than a string of text. I shall try it on a few applications.

After 10 minutes of fighting with it, I couldn't figure out how to get ModePro to even promote one single screen.  10 minutes is too long in my book so I went back to NewMode, since I remembered it from the '90s.   I'm sure it's all good once you get familiar with the interface, I do know ModePro has a lot more capabilities, lol.

So, I made a sequel.  Guy asked me about adjusting screenmodes with P96.  Easier to make a video than type six paragraphs.  ;)

Hi Mike,  I was the one asking about Mode promotion.  Just viewed the video and
wanted to thank you for taking the time.  It was excellent, and terrifically informative.
