Steven, is there any chance of taking a shot of your monitor screen with your Miggy on? What Screen Mode do you use? I'd like to see how small your icons are.
Unfortunately, I don't have my SD/FF anymore, I sold it on eBay, along with my A1200, to finance my CD32 SX32 Pro!
But here's how I set up my A1200's Workbench display with it's SD/FF:
- Set the Workbench ScreenMode to "High-Res Laced", which is 640x512 if I remember correctly (I never use Super-High-Res Laced because it elongates everything!)
- Go into OverScan prefs, and stretch the screen as wide and tall as possible (unlike on an Amiga monitor, the extreme edges of the overscan display should easily be visible on the PC monitor, so that you can see what you're doing). Do the same for both graphics and text.
- Your screenmode will now be something like 710x570, or something "obscure" like that (ie. not a standard size).
- Use the monitor controls to centre the picture.
- Use the monitor controls to adjust the height and width of the display, so that the edges of the Amiga overscan screen are lined up with the edges of the PC monitor.
You will then have the biggest display possible in the highest-resolution! When you play games, you'll have to use your monitor controls to adjust the position, height, and width of each custom screen, but this should only need doing once for each screenmode.
If you want, I'll try and set up WinUAE tonight to mimick what the above screen would look like, so that you can get an idea of icon size, etc. I'll e-mail you a screenshot hopefully later thsi evening.
Steve.
PS. Are you in St Helens? (going by your e-mail address!)
