I hear ya Crom00.  I think I am done with any more major purchases for my Amiga.  I will use it from here on out but if it dies...it dies.  How much do Minimig's go for?  Also, how do you install Workbench on it?

Problem solved.  The damn Denise wasn't pushed in far enough.  That was the toughest fit I have ever seen.  All works fine now.  Thanks.

Good to hear, so are you going to keep it?

What are your initial impressions of the picture quality in WB? are you using it with a standard lcd monitor?

The picture quality is very nice MelbourneBen.  I'm using it on an LCD monitor and it is just as good is not better than the 2320.  They've also come down in price quite a bit since then.  Sorry I didn't answer you 2.5 years ago.

I was gonna say make sure you press the assembly HARD.  I know this tends to go against all that is sensable, but I had all sorts of problems with my Indy ECS, and it seemed like it barely stayed in the socket.  I took the advice of some guys on this board, and pressed it so much the MB was flexing, and it popped into place, and all is fine.  I am glad you got it working.  It is nice to use a regular monitor with the A2000.  I don't know how you ran the cable that connects to the monitor, but here is what I did.  I found an old serial card with places to mount DB9 connectors.  I removed the metal strip from the card with the pre-punched holes, and mounted it where the toaster board would go, then attached the VGA connector from the Indy there.  Looks like that is how it came from the factory.  Has good strain relief, and works perfectly.  The VGA cable on the Indy is just long enough to come out from under the power supply/floppy drive bracket assembly, and reach to the back, to the right of the power supply where the toaster board would go.

Next time, insert the Denise into ECS before installing on the motherboard.  You won't have to see your board flex so much.

Nope, Denise plugged in fine...It was the Indy ECS that was so hard to plug in.  Same problem, just different place.  I plugged the Denise in first. :)

My Amiga 2000 starts up and works with LCD monitor then after a bit the picture starts flickering. Anyone have an idea??? I was told it may be a power problem??

 Thanks!

Hi!  Could be power, could be heat, could be a lot of things.  You're replying to a thread that's three years old, btw.  But, welcome!  :D

For starters, how many boards do you have in your A2000?  Have you tried removing all expansions and see if the problem still happens?  Checked and tightened all your connections?  Tried a different monitor cable?  Made sure everything is seated correctly, no corrosion in the socket, etc.?  But try removing all other boards, first.  ;)

Things heat up and expand either toward a good connection or away from one.

Try a systematic approach, such as rule out a monitor and cable connection problem (try another monitor, cable, clean connectors).  Then open the case and reseat chips; look here for loose cables.

While under "load" carefully check the PSU for voltages concentrating on the +5 and +12 as they are the most heavily burdened.  Keep in mind that every Amiga "expert" hears of a problem and posts Capacitors and PSU.  A2000's tend to not have the former, and every hoofbeat does not come from a Zebra.

And when you have the cover off just for Caution check the battery.

Welcome to AOrg, :-)

Have you earthed the Indivsion?
How old is it?
Has it worked fine before?
Have you checked the Indivsion, is it seated correctly?

I assume it's an Indivision ECS as that's the thread you've replied to :-)
