Posting from iBrowse
« on: February 18, 2004, 02:04:42 PM »
So, I picked up one of those cheap PCMCIA cards from eBay, installed cnet and Miami... And after an hour of fiddling, I was online with my A1200! :-D

So I wanted to post from my A1200, for the sheer novelty of it, but when I hit submit I got a "Could not insert forum post" message...

Is this because iBrowse (v1.12 demo, which I had installed from ages ago) smells, or what?

:-)

Hi that_punk_guy

If it wasn't for my "Crisis de CU_AMiGA" crisis, i could also be online using my Amiga 1200! (GGGRRR!) :-x

Anyhow, i have iBrowse as well, registered version 1.22 and 2.2. But unfortunately, the later i can't access fully cos the bloody key file got lost when the old HD broke down. (GGGRRR!) :-x I reckon that it is cos your version iBrowse is too old for Amiga.org. Have you tried the "AWeb Open Source project". I haven't tried it yet online, but seemed okay displaying local pages. Hey, it's better than nothing. :-)

The links are here:

It's been said time and time again - Update Your Browser!  Many web sites, including this one, are using technologies that Amiga browsers don't support.  We are doing our best to make Amiga.org work on Antique browsers, but it's not easy, it's not getting any easier, and it definitely won't be continued forever.

Er... have a cow, why don't ya? ;-)

I wouldn't have thought it was much to expect to be able to at least post using a browser from 1998...

You should really try IBrowse 2.3 demo. It's the best browser for AOS at this time IMHO.
