Classic Gaming Expo was GREAT!

This was the second one I attended and again running Steel Battalion.  If you have facebook take a look at these links!

Sadly There is very little in the way of an Amiga presence and that is what I want to talk about.  The museum that was there was heavy game systems as you would expect but showed several Atari and Commodore 64/128s... and one A1200.  There wasn't even a sing of explanation next to it.

In the gian game room they again had all types of old school computers, game systems and arcade cabinets setup for free play.  The sole A500 in there sat at the insert disk screen.

Very very sad.

I know we have our own Convention for the west cost and don't really think we'd need a massive presence at CGE, but really? :(

I think where we really miss out is in the panels.  I got to meet several of the original Activision crew and even shook hands with Gary Kitchen!!!  Many of the things they talk about directly cross into the Amiga world but there was no one that I knew other then me there to appreciate it.

SO!  I got promoted for next year's CGE and will be one of the head honchos.  When we find out where it is taking place, usually in Las Vegas, who want's to know about it and who want's to help make a strong presence there?

Hey J!

Good to hear it was fun.  Looks like a great number of Steel Battalion setups, how many setups did they have?

What other systems did you see?

Take care!

Uh, did you miss the entire Clark County Commodore Computer Club (of Las Vegas) area in the game room?   The area comprised several long and short tables (we were there next to Chris Romero's Vectrex playing area).  They had up to eight systems going on - an A500 (which was continually playing games), an A1200 with Indivision hooked up to a 24" VGA/flatscreen television, a SX-64, a VIC-20, a Plus/4, a laptop running UAE, and more.  I was there most of Saturday and a bit on Sunday, minding the tables, and there were other members of the FCUG, 5C's, and even SCCAN watching over the tables.

The new CGE organizers were so pleased with the 5C's response for C= and Amiga machines to put out for attendees to use, that the 5C's were invited for the next CGE, with possibly an even bigger area for the computers.

Still having to post more of my CGE photos and video,

Seriously, all I saw was an A500 next to several C64s!  Were you in the back right corner?

How in the world did I miss that?!?!?!?

Now I feel really stupid.... :(

@Tekmage We had six Steel Battalion setups, all networked for action!
