FS: D-UAE - The new legal dedicated UAE System
« on: October 03, 2014, 03:12:25 AM »
After much work,  I have made the former AmigaMini,  Now called The D-UAE Dedicated Amiga Emulation Station legal.   These are still based on the thin HP t5735 Thin Clients.  Just a slight reconfiguration to make them nice and legal.

The system specs are as follows
Sempron 2100+ CPU
1GB RAM
1GB Internal Flash- Which holds XPe
16GB Flash which holds UAE & Associated files.
The XPe License is provided by HP and the OS is freely available for download from HP's website.
A clonezilla image of the system will be also included for easy restoration if something happens.

Each system will come with an AmigaForever License and will be included on a USB stick.

The system can boot into the workbench of your choice, and like the previous generation,  preconfigured workbenches will be available.
Its default boot is Workbench 3.1 in P96 Mode.

A large Demopack is included for you to enjoy :)

No games are included  You have to provide your own.  WHDLoad is included but you will need to license it yourself.

These are updatable,  when I build a newer version Ill send out the clonezilla image to the owners of them.  Just boot and reflash the system and you are good to go.

You are paying for the hardware & the AmigaForever License. Which contain a legal copy of the ROMs and Workbench Packs.    These are available at a lower price point.  $100 shipped in the USA  $140 shipped internationally.

If Im stepping on anyones toes here legally please let me know,  I really enjoy building these units and getting them out there

Should be ok without the name and logo.

Why don't you arrange to get a WHDload license included too?

Can you not include the games included with Amiga forever if it included a copy????

Hi:
Got a couple of questions:
If I tell you what's my workbench of choice, can you install it
so that the system boots into the workbench I want ? Without having
to configure it every time I power the system ?
And, if I get all the amiga games I like, in original floppies, Is it possible
to install them in the system and load from WHDload ? and is this
hard to do ?
Thank you !!!

Yup I can configure it the way you want.   If you have the disk images for the game,  you can mount the ADF file and then load from WHDLoad

Nice price for a configured emulation system with AmigaForever included to make it all legal.  How is the performance on these systems (not that I am interested in buying one, as I already have way too many computers, and regularly run AmigaForever on my i7 laptop), plus can you provide a picture, or a link to a picture.

I think a lot of users prefer to have someone else find off-the-shelf hardware that works well and do all the installation and configuration for them, so all the buyer has to do is pay for it, plug it in, and turn it on.  If you are also offering a service to configure these systems with custom workbench and legal software packages preconfigured, that should be popular with new users who are not experienced in setting things up themselves on an Amiga system.

Good luck with this nice idea.  It isn't what most experienced Amiga users probably want, as they usually customize their own systems, but for some users, your end product and custom services will probably be appealing.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

They are surprisingly fast,  The CPU in the thin client is a 1.8ghz Sempron CPU so it runs the emulation great,  I havent seen any hiccups in any demos or anything ive ran on them.

Heres a picture of the unit :),  Its small and low power,  connects to either a DVI Monitor or VGA monitor,  or HDTV with DVI-HDMI Adapter

No sorry, I don't know why you keep saying 1.8GHz when it's not, the S1G1 Sempron 2100+ in the T573x is only running at 1GHz.

You are thinking about the Brisbane 1.8GHz one for AM2 and that's not whats inside the Thin Client.

But as ive told you before, both the 1.8GHz (3400+) and above can be find under 10$ on ebay and ive replaced a few CPUs in my T573x tc's and ive been able to go over 2GHz by updating the Microcode on the bios.
