Insert volume System in any drive
« on: January 28, 2018, 05:24:45 PM »
I get this window on boot that says "Please insert volume System in any drive" and when I click "Cancel" it says it one more time and when I hit cancel again.. the OS starts up fine.

I read a thread saying that a program is looking for the System : Drive and to check the startup-sequence... but I don't know how to do this.  Where do you get a list of the startup programs and how do I change/reroute a program to the proper drive?

Thanks!

Look in your Startup-Sequence? Post a screenshot if you want help analyzing it. :)

Maybe there is an assign in user-startup or a missing picture in the background/windows.

Here's the user-startup... this seems like something because it's saying "System:MUI"...

Check if MUI is installed and the device name.
If it's in there, rename system to whatever is to.

if you make it say SYS:mui etc etc
it will work no matter what your system drive is named...assuming mui is on sys: drive.
sys: is basically a global assign to the boot drive no matter its name.

How can I tell what device it's installed to?  I can see it in Workbench 3.1.

As said above, if there is a MUI directory in your main system partition then just rename system to sys.

Wait.. the Workbench 3.1 worked!  I had to change anything that said "System:" to "Workbench 3.1:"...

I'm guessing "SYS:" will work also?

Thanks so much for your help guys!!!!

*Edit.. YES!  SYS: worked also... I'll leave it at SYS:
