DPS TBC IV problems
« on: June 08, 2014, 02:17:22 AM »
I have my camera Svideo OUT going into the TBC IV Svideo IN and the TBC IV Svideo OUT going to my monitor.

When I load the software and select TBC 1 ( Thats what I have the dip switches set to) and change any of the sliders nothing happens. I do the same for TBC 2, 3  and 4 in case the address is wrong and nothing changes.

Does anyone know how to use this card?

Thanks

It's an ISA card, so the Amiga can't communicate with it directly. It only uses the bus for power. Do you have it linked to your serial port?

There's a manual for the TBC-III on the Video Toaster/Flyer Mailing List that might be similar enough to help you to get operational.

I could be wrong, but I think it's a standard port on the TBC - like the one used on 68K Macs. Shouldn't be too tough to find a cable.

You can connect to the internal serial header in the Amiga, the connection is the same for any of the DPS TBCxx cards, you you connect the first TBC to the Amiga, and then daisy chain any others to the first card.
I have the manuals for the TBCII and TBCIII, send me a PM with your email, and I'll send you the the connection instructions.

I thought the same thing but the Mac serial 8 pin DIN is different than the 9 pin mini din that the TBC uses.

I found the RC-2000 cable in my stash so all I need is an RJ-14 to DB25 female and I can make my own cable. So I will order the connector tomorrow and build my own cable. The TBC is simple. It only use 3 pins, Send, Receive and ground. So will be simple to make.
