WHDLoad Registrations
« on: February 11, 2004, 05:03:09 AM »
Am I the only one who's registered WHDLoad (and been charged for it through PayPal) to NEVER AGAIN hear from these thieving bastages?

Just thought I'd ask, it's been 3 or 4 months since they gleefully took my money from PayPal, I assumed I'd hear something from them by now. :(

When I regged  last year I got it fairly quick.  Though it was misspelled and I had some hassles trying to get it fixed, but it finally did.  Maybe it got overlooked?

They also don't respond to any emails I've sent them (always polite ones). I think that from now on, when it comes to Amiga software I'll just PIRATE IT ALL and say screw you to people wanting money.

(Joking, but I'll certainly think twice before registering anything from the emulation community ever again.)

I had no problem getting my keyfile from Wepl when I registered a few years back and when I needed a replacement keyfile recently.  What email address are you sending to?

Emulation community?  I'm sure these guys are using classic Amigas, not emulators.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Very strange indeed, as Bert Jahn usually gets back to you within a matter of days, depending on how busy he is.

I'd also take the matter up on the WHDLoad ML on Yahoo (I think it's http://www.yahoogroups.com/WHDload) to see if there's something going on that's preventing Bert from responding (off on holiday, etc).

I regged and payed with PayPal with no problems too. I even wrote Bert Jahn a question last week, took him about 24 hours to write back.

I'd advise you to write him one more time.

Hoya!

Weird. I have regged my key some years ago without any problem at all. They were fast and friendly.
Maybe they have some email/network problems? Anyway, believe me, they are NOT thieves! :-)

I got my key a few days after the payment. I didn't have a CC, so I sent the sum of money in cash by post: If Bert was a fraud, he could take the money and don't say a word... but on the contrary, he thanked me and sent me the key promptly.

Try to contact him with the details of the purchase. I think this will resolve any misunderstanding.

I've re-emailed this info to him a couple times, never had a response. (to: Bert Jahn; wepl(at)whdload.de ) I even emailed him from an entirely different email account. Then forgot about it for a month or so, but when I read about the new WHDLoad files recently, I said to myself "Hey, yeah, I registered that thing and never heard back from them." ...and here I am.

He finally replied to me today, apparently because my PayPal account is listed as "AmigaDeals.com" and they only allow individuals (not businesses) to register it, they sent nothing. An e-mail explaining this, or allowing me to say "no no register it to me" would have been nice 3 months ago. Suffice it to say, I assume this will all be resolved when he gets back on Sunday or Monday.

Sucks that I had to squak about it here and on their site to get any response though. Bad for them, bad for me, bad in general...
