Emulating the Amiga 1200 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3
« on: March 30, 2014, 09:41:13 AM »
Hello World!

Though I discovered I have a usable blog on Amiga.org, I am still configured for using my technical blog at element14 community blogs. Here's my latest blog post that is Amiga-related:

I only wish I had a real Amiga in my home... My birthday is coming up in May (hint, hint). Have a nice day, everybody!

I'm using my Galaxy Tab 3 for emulation on the go, it seems quicker than my Netbook - only problem is mouse emulation on a touch screen as it's not too good.

Cool! Another Galaxy Tab 3 user! As for the mouse emulation, it's a little bit easier when I use a Bluetooth mouse. My Bluetooth mouse has a resolution adjustment, so I don't worry about the calibration with the touchscreen.

I just got my JXD S7800A in the mail (they were supposed to have sent me a S7800B instead, grrr) and decided to have a go at this and follow your guide.

Needless to say it worked right off the bat, and now I've paid for Amiga roms twice in my life ha ha, though I know I could have moved them over manually.

Anyhow, I set this to 28Mhz instead, and so far so good. I've only ran Montezuma's Revenge and Alien part 1 thus far, but will continue testing and see what all I can get it to do. Though to be honest, under emulation, I generally only game as my real 1200 suits me just fine, though it still needs sent up north for recapping.

So what am I saying after all of this? Oh yes... Thank you, thank you very much! I love this guide and that emulator, both are easy to use and follow.

Alright, looks like if I go over 14Mhz that the emulated system become erratic, so 14Mhz it is.

One nice thing I like about this is that I can use a real keyboard and mouse via the USB port as this device has no BlueToothe.

Another nice thing is I can turn that damned touch screen off as UAE4ALL2 directly supports and is preconfigured for the S7800A's direction pad and buttons!

Thanks again for bringing this up, thus far I've been able to enjoy  Enemy 1, Alien Fish Finger, Montezuma's Revenge, and The Great Giana Sisters without issue.

I booted up a HDF with Dopus II installed and it seemed to run very well. I also noticed that this supports using directories as hard drives as well! This will be great for when I eventually invest into a larger and faster MicroSD card.
