Exactly what Mechy said.
Open your case (four screws on the sides, one on the back), then remove the drive sled (four screws on the back around the PSU and three on the front). The battery is located at the front of the motherboard near the keyboard connector. Inspect it carefully. If it looks anything like this:
you'll need to remove it immediately, since the longer it stays in the more damage it will cause. Then start googling "clean up Amiga motherboard battery damage". In most cases the A2000 is a tank and can be brought back. You can always post pics here if you need more advice.
On the other hand if there is no battery, a coin cell battery, or no leakage, you should start by checking all your connections and reseating all custom chips.
