Directory Opus Ver. 3.41
« on: February 08, 2004, 04:49:58 PM »
Hi All,
I am using Dir. Opus ver 3.41 currently.  It seems to do most everything I need it to do but I can't figure out how to configure it to show all my drives.  It only has room to show six drives.  I have four CD drives and five hard drives plus the Catweasel floppy drives.    I have gone into "Configure" and "Drives" but I can't find a way to increase the number of cells on the gadget grid.  I tried putting the drives on the blank cells but that doesn't work.  It seems as though they have to be in the cells to the far left side.  If this cannot be done is there a subsequent version that will accommodate my needs?  I really don't want to upgrade unless there is no other way to do this.

You probably would want to upgrade to Dopus4.
There are later versions, but I can't say
about them as I've never use them.
I use Dopus 4, Upgraded from dopus 3.xx.
Dopus 4 will see all your drives and is all
around a much nicer prg.
And as 'Blobrana' says.. its free
Stealth ONE  8-)

Dave,
You should grab v4.16 as it has been cleaned up and improved very much and the best part is that it is public now. Here is one way of doing what you want (I had a quick look through my v3 manual and couldn't find it)*. In v4.xx select 'configure' (duh!), 'buttons', pick a button, then name it (probably to the directory/drive  that you want, let's say DH7: for example), then for the button action choose "Command ScanDir dh7:" and you're away to the races!

* You may be able to do it with an AREXX script but I think upgrading to 4.16 would be easier.

Pete

Thanks for the info.  I did download and install it.  I still have not been able to get it to show all my drives.   It knows they are there because when you click on the drives button in the cinfigure utilty they all show.

I downloaded and tried your suggestion but no luck.  I can make a button but it won't bring up the drive and it;s directories.  I tried a few other command options but no luck.  Any other ideas?

Hi,

You need to see all the drives at once ?
In Directory Opus 4 you have some buttons banks, and they can be cycled. To cycle a bank of drives buttons, just click over them with the right mouse button.
All you have to do, is configure tha banks in the order you want, with the most used disks first, and if you need some drive not so often used, click over the drives buttons with the right mouse button, to cycle through the banks.
