The Aztec works fine in my A3000.  I have the newer SCSI chip, and I had to disable termination.  After I got that working (about 3.75MB/s), I put it on my Warp040 board's SCSI... now I get 8MB/s.  :)

Those should be pretty fast since he just integrated the acard 7720 with a cf into 1 board. some people have reported problems with them, but hard to tell if it was just a termination issue or missing term power(diode d800 on 3000 bad or wrong way round?). Might even be the firmware rev.

It is too bad there is not a $50 version of it. Maybe someone should build one(hint jim hint hint) :)

So been thinking with SSD drives becoming the norm I was going to try one on my Video Toaster Flyer. Is there such a thing as an affordable SCSI to SATA adapter? Ive seen some but they are well over $100 and that seems outrageous.[/QUOTE

They were affordable(the 7720u,7722,7720uw etc) were affordable and downright cheap on the used market for many years, but they have been snapped up by everyone and are more costly now. the 7730a was for 68pin uwscsi to sata. i currently use it in my 4k with a samsung 850 pro ssd. there is the same thing under addonics name(i think i got it for $79? new a year or 2 ago). addonics # is ADSALVD160 just a rebadged acard. the firmware upgrades work on it from acard site. you might find a good price with some google digging. any of the above would work to use a cf in a ide to cf adapter(except 7730a and addonics which is sata).

another option might be:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CF-AztecMonster-CF-3-5inc-SCSI-Converter-New-Condition-for-Vintage-Computer-/301820877738?hash=item4645ed1baa:g:F3MAAOSw1XdUXEEp

Not any cheaper though ;/

I dont think the scsi2sd will work for a flyer, its pretty darn slow:

http://shop.codesrc.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=58

i think amigakit sells these cheaper,at least i believe it to be the same thing. they run maybe 2 MB/s so it may be too slow for video.

Hi, I have bought acard 7730a and samsung 850 pro 128gb but my CSMKIII (DCE rev.4) does not find the hd. I´ve formatted hd in winuae, used two active terminators on both sides but nothing shows up in hdtoolbox or the scsi tool. Can you please share how you did the setup?

Value is something subjective, I don't mind spending $150 USD for a decent solution.

I went with Acards Solutions.  The 2000SUP, has a nice enclosure case and is well built.  Performance is really nice, on my CS MK III I have an SSD yielding 27 m/ps and on my 3000D SCSI controller will yield over 4 m/ps.  The acards come in a 50pin and 68pin solution, that look and perform very well.

The only issue with the Acard is that my SSD (OWC) refuses to work on the warp engine (NCR SCSI).

Do the AztecMonsters work on Amiga now? (I know, its nearly 2017, I just wanted to know if any progress has been made)

I still swear by my ACARD. You can get the one that shows its only for CD/DVD drives (7722) and remove the bios and reflash it of you have a programmer.  Its more work but will save you about $40-$60 depending on the ebay sellers.

Now if I could just find a SCSI-to-SATA for less than $200.

I have an Acard IDE to SCSI adapter I used to use in my A3000 but don't need it anymore so I'm giving it to a friend who has a BPPC plus SCSI.

What (If any) cable/adapter will he need to use it on the BPPC?  He has the cable the came with it that connects to the header and provides an external SCSI port.

Do what I do, ACARD with an IDE to SATA adapter for my SSD. Works perfectly fine.

being a former toaster flyer dealer id say that the bandwidth on that scsi to sd is not enough for proper flyer data transfer. Stick with a real scsi drive. I have some a/v rated flyer drives if you need one. SSD is fancy and great but the performance will be immaterial for your usage on flyer for data transfer rates standard scsi drives are fine. The only thing i can see is for the quiet or cool angle.

This is something I am planning to do with my 4000T/Flyer setup.  I'm trying to keep everything in the A4000T case and keep noise/heat/power to a minimum.  (3) 2.5" SSD drives for the flyer definitely help accomplish that :)

I've been looking at ACard's for a while and the SATA > SCSI ones are expensive and I have yet to see one on eBay at a less than retail price.

I'm using an IDE > SCSI ACard on an IDE SSD drive (connected to the WarpEngine4040's SCSI) for an Amiga drive.   The IDE > SCSI ACards can found on eBay for less than retail, but IDE SSD drives are about twice what a similar SATA SSD drive costs.

I may have to look at the suggestion Acill made on using an SATA>IDE adapter between a SATA SSD drive and an IDE>SCSI ACard.....
