Elbox ATX->AT power supply. 400 W in A4000D possible ???
« on: January 26, 2004, 09:20:36 AM »
Just noticed something on the Elbox site that may have been there for ages but I have never noticed it. It's an interface to connect an modern ATX power supply to a motherboard or busboard that requires AT power supply connectors P8 and P9.  Can I just go to the nearest pc store and get a 400 W ATX power supply for 35 euro ??  :-? Is it that easy ???  :-?

Pretty much so.
The ATX PSU may have different plugs for the mobo, but electrically the outputs are the same, and all it needs to turn it on (test only !) is to connect the green wire to a black wire. The logic will be used to make sure the On/Off actually happens, and there will be adapters for the mobo plugs.
