Concerniong FastATA 1200 MK-IV from AmigaKit
« on: December 06, 2012, 01:14:19 AM »
I am saving right now enough money and I am soon going to be able to afford and buy this from AmigaKit. I have couple of questions about this item before I Buy it from AmigaKit.

1) I already bought USB Sub from AmigaKit and it is installed in my Amiga 1200 and working 100%. When I buy this item, can they both fit together comfortably in my A1200D?

2) My old HD which is 20 GB (willing to upgrade it) is the IDE it is not SATA1/SATA2 or even SATA3. With this Card it mentions Sata on it, does that mean I can buy this HD http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX23360 and install it on my Amiga 1200 thanks to the card?

If not, can you show me couple of HD that will work on the FastATA card or can I still use my old HD with it or can I have two HDs inside my Amiga using the card?

Thanks in advance.

All I can tell is the support for SATA drives is a cheap 3rd-party adapter that simply plugs into the FastATA (eg you don't have to use it).
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

I they used to sell a clockport riser which makes it an easy fit, I need it, but I also have double ROM risers for the Indivision AGA MK2.

I think it can fit without it, but its nicer to have....

You may need to file down the FastATA around the clockport adapter.
