I have read some old posts about this topic, but was wondering if there was any new way to accomplish this. I just bought an Amiga 1000 to play some old games on. I have two A500's, but wanted the same system I had when I was growing up. My problem is that the only kickstart disk I have (1.1) doesn't work or the floppy drive won't read it. In any case, I don't know how to verify the drive works without a kickstart. It spins and makes all the noises I remember. (Almost worth the price of the system alone!)

I own every version of Amiga Forever for the last 4 or 5 years. Is there any way to make the disks from the Amiga Forever images on a PC or Mac without the expense of a Catweasel? I am sure ya'll are going to say get a Catweasel, but I thought I would ask!

In any case, I am going to be on the lookout for original software packs that came with the A1000 to purchase as well. I would just like to know if the system is working. Thanks!
P.S. The Kickstart Hand screen does come up.
