GVP SCSI Maximum partition Size?
« on: July 31, 2012, 09:37:32 PM »
Hey everyone,

I'm using a Mechware SCSI Card reader with a Kingston 4gb Compact Flash Card on the SCSI Chain of a GVP 030 Combo. I Partitioned and installed ClassicWB (OS3.1) Using WinUAE on a 500mb Partition on the card.

Everything runs well but if I make another partition, say 500mb, the system locks up and Gurus when I try to format it, be it quick or full.

As a Test I created a 100mb Partition - This Formatted just fine, however 200mb locks up.

Anyone had this experience with GVP Controllers?

I've Made Some more partitions using WinUAE But am left wondering why it wouldn't work on the Amiga. GVP SCSI Rom is v4.15

Thanks,

Robert.

I've GVP HD8+ it has a 4Gb hd and 2 2Gb partitions. IF I remember correctly, in EAB somebody tested it with quite big hds and only limitation he found was 2gb size limit to partitions, in other word he could have hundreds of 2gb partitions.
