Automatic KVM switch question
« on: July 16, 2012, 02:16:40 AM »
I have a Belkin F1DB102P KVM switch that I picked up (with a button to manually switch between two computers) and am currently using it to use one monitor between a 3000 and 2000 (with Indivision).  If I get the proper adapters is it possible to use the keyboard switcher to share the one Amiga keyboard I have between the two computers or will I need to use a PC keyboard and two PS/2 adapters?

Obviously the PS/2 mouse port will not work without two adapters but mice take up much less room than keyboards.

Thanks,
Chris

The KVMs use to emulate keyboard & mice - meaning you probably can't use it for switching Amiga peripherals. However, you can use PS/2 devices with adapters on the Amiga side if you really need to.

I'd build a simple mechanical switch for K&M (just data & clock for the keyboard plus 4 mouse lines and 2 buttons) - not extremely elegant but bulks of adapters aren't either.
