Commodore A3630 & 040
« on: January 20, 2004, 04:44:34 PM »
Hi,

Although not new to the Amiga (I currently own an A600, A1200 & A2000), I've never owned or used an A4000. I'm getting an A4000/030 and I'm wondering if the 030 Processor can be changed to a 040 (I've got one in an old Falcon card). Is it simply a case of a socketed CPU and jumper settings or is the 030 directly mounted on the board?

Cheers for any help.

Nope, affraid not. They are not pin compatible. The 040 is alot closer to the 060.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Only option for an 040 on a 4000 would be an accelerator board for the CPU slot I'm afraid.
