Printer setup
« on: June 14, 2012, 07:25:00 PM »
My nice and noisy dot matrix printer arrived and I have it hooked up to my amiga 1200 BUT I can't print. When I go to printers there is just the item "generic" in the list. My printer is a Epson LQ300 which I think should work with the workbench 3.1 epson drivers? Problem is in the printers folder I have just that generic driver! I am using Classic Workbench ADVSP but I do have a copy of workbench 3.1 and on the floppy I can only see that bloody generic driver!

Help appreciated! :-D

This may have been mentioned in another thread, but, the printer drivers for the Amiga left a lot to be desired until OS 3.5/3.9.
Maybe Classic WB uses upgraded printer drivers, I don't know.
You could also use the old Studio drivers, or another aftermarket set of drivers....

A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)

Hi,

When I used Amiga OS ver 3 and a dot-matrix printer I used EpsonX as a driver.

Also, dont forget the "Dip Switches" on the back of the printer must be set correctly.
