Quantum ProDrive 40 MB SCSI
« on: March 18, 2012, 06:17:23 AM »
Pulled from my A2500... Works great, replaced with flash drive.   I hate to throw in the trash, but if anyone wants it they'll have to pay for shipping and the box I put it in.   Let me know, else it's garbage time.  ;)

Is this one of the 5.25" or 3.5" units?  (IIRC, the 3.5" series were labeled "LP.")

I would gladly take it if I could.  I've got an identical one inside my a590.

Think it would fit in a small USPS flat rate box?

  $5.35
   Priority Mail
  Small Flat Rate Box

8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8"

actually 1-5/8 probably isnt thick enough
probably have to go medium

                                                                         $11.35
                                                                             Priority MailĀ®
 Medium Flat Rate Box

                                                                             13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8"
11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"

I'm sure of that. I had the 80 MB version back in the day, connected to my A500 with Evolution controller.

The Quantum Prodrive series was 1.6", with the most common models being 40 & 80 MB.

The (later) LPS series was indeed 1" with the most common models being 52 & 105 MB.
Life sucks. Then you die. Then they throw mud in your face. Then you get eaten by worms. Be happy it happens in that order... My Amiga 1200

Ah, yes.  I had two of the 52MB units.  Gave them away or recycled them, not sure which.  Wouldn't mind having one back for my TI system.

Staying involved in "retro" systems just reinforces my bad pack-rat tendencies because of all the things I've thrown out which I *did* eventually need.
