Microbotics M1230XA accelerator problems
« on: February 19, 2012, 09:33:15 PM »
:( Hi,

I have a Microbotics M1230XA accel board. If I launch sysinfo it reports a speed of about 6500 dhrystones while some reviews I read about this card say it should be near 8000 dhrystones.

When launching the setXA program from within workbench, I can see some garbage on the application screen and the settings related to memory size and speed are not correctly displayed so, as specified in the accelerator's manual, I've tried to redefine the EEPROM settings of the card via the setXA command :

SetXA ADDMEM RAM 16 FPU 68882 FPUSPEED 40 RAMSPEED 60

and any parameter different from ADDMEM causes the application to crash. Also If I use the "setXA SHOW" command, which was supposed to display the current configuration for the accelerator board, I can read the following message on the screen :

"The XA1230 is not properly initialized"

I would like to know whether there's a way -or not- to fix all these problems and improve the accelerator speed.

I own a desktop A1200 + Powerflyer Gold ATA controller, 16 Mb Fast RAM with AmigaOS 3.9 BB4 installed.

Thanks in advance,
