Problem AirLancer MC-11 WIFI CARD
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:23:45 PM »
Hello Guys,
i' am new to the forum and just own a Amiga 1200 (i had an Amiga 500 when i was baby and first a Commodore 64) with expansion card gvp Jaws II 40MHz 68030 without FPU for now and for the moment with 4MB of RAM and a 4GB CF HDD dual boot with Magic Workbench 3.1 and 4 AGA Amiga SYS. I bought on ebay a PCMCIA WiFi card AirLancer MC-11 hoping to be able to connect to the network, but the  status and operational LEDs do not light up even when installed in the slot, I installed the drivers on both systems that I have provided I think it's Prism2. I do not know how to show the card to the system so I ask for help. I tried the card on a PC with Ubuntu and the LEDs work, and you can see the networks even though I was not able to connect to wifi wep encryption with 128-bit and 13 characters to 26.
Clicking on the WB and then on TOOLS and PrepCard you see the card, but unfortunately I have not managed to make him turn on the LED and connect to the router, I used the following string to shell SetPrism2Defaults nomerouter NOKEY SSID.
Does anyone know if you need other software such as TCP / IP stack and where I can find it and how to configure it?
thanks :bump:

You do need a running TCP/IP stack such as Genesis, that can be found on the OS 3.9 CD. Best you configure a static IP for your A1200 in it.

As for the SetPrimDefault you need to specify your WEP key (after KEY) and your SSID (after SSID) in the startup-sequence.

Make sure to make an entry for the MC-11 in your router's MAC filter (in case you use it, that is). Try and ping around (router, other computers in your LAN, internet) with the command to be found in AmiTCP:bin (that comes with the TCP/IP stack). Unlike in Win, the pinging will stop only if you press CTRL-C.
