Hello there.  What version of workbench are you using? How powerful is your Amiga?

okay i'm using workbench 3.9 on an aca 1230/28 Mhz equiped a1200

I use it on an LCD-TV via Scart-RGB (like its possible in Germany) or SVIDEO so Highres Interlaced is possible without flickerin'.

Hope this helps.

With that setup, I wouldn't bother customising anything. I find that 3.9 is pretty enough as it is, so I can't help you any further unfortunately. Good luck.

Hi there, there is a lot of customizing you can do with your setup. I recommend you take a look at Marios blog and send him an email, he is a very friendly guy, btw, he is a regular  here too (mfilos).

Check this entry in his blog:

Good luck.

There are icon tools out there for using any icons you see on other systems on your Amiga, or draw your own.

Also with rainboot and such like, you can add a boot picture/animation with sound effects.

Add some nice WB/window backdrops, and there are tools to load new back drops with each boot.

Workbench bump gives you a bumped mapped image, and the lighting changes as you move the mouse.
http://aminet.net/util/wb/WBBump.lha

Visualprefs allows you to alter the look of your window borders etc
http://aminet.net/util/wb/VisualPrefs.lha

is this the sort of thing you are after?

Just remember the customizing requires more colors to look any good, and your computer will slow down as a result, and will use precious chip ram that could be used by apps.

The key to Cammy's customization is the pallette (Rebel's Palette?) which allows window borders and backdrops to look pretty good in 16 colors without slowing down too much.

Eitherway there is a fair bit of work in getting it to look good and function well. if you have the time go for it, but may I suggest you take a look at Classic workbench
http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/advsp.htm or amigasys: http://www.amigasys.com/

I'd normally recommend that people go for ClassicWB 3.9 but if you can't use it then you can have a look at this little guide
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

I also use BootChange to randomly select WB backdrops, and sounds.

Also, regarding the color issue.. I use ImageFX to re-map pics to a smaller palette, works out pretty well....

A1200ger;

Check the Docs. of Fblit for details... there are some programs that don't behave with it very well... DeluxePaint4 original version didn't work right with Fblit, IME... DP4 AGA, and Dpaint5 are fine, tho.
Also, do you have any other patches/hacks that could be interfering?
