Anyway to get more compatibility with 040?
« on: December 12, 2011, 05:08:12 PM »
Some of my games do not work anymore since i upgraded my A1200 with an Apollo 1240 accelerator.

I am told that this is because the 68040 is less compatible than the 68030 and maybe even the 68060.

Is there a way to get more compatibility for my WHDLoad games?

You can play with the caches using this: http://main.aminet.net/pub/aminet/util/wb/SystemPrefs.lha
And look at the tool types for VBR etc.

Sorry, I know this is no help in regards to you questions, but Ive never had a problem with any of the '040 cards I've had in regards to compatibility.

Perhaps its related to using older libs with the '040? (not saying this *is* the case, but it s the 1st thing that comes to mind).
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

Most often it's data cache and/or the other caches not in a 020.
