FBlit & FTEXT
« on: February 01, 2012, 03:38:26 PM »
I am using FBLIT & FTEXT so that the amiga uses less chipmem.

I don't understand if there are any settings etc, i just put them in startup-sequence like c:fblit and c:ftext.

If i set the screenmode to PAL Hires Laced @ 128 colors and put a background picture and some other settings like highest quality icons my chipmem decreases to 1.2mb at best and can go as low as 700k with some windows opened.

Any settings i can do to improve this?

Have 64MB Fastmem (Well Sysinfo/SysSpeed report 63.5MB)

Thanks

Check the docs for each. I've never used them, so I'm not sure.

The files you need are:

C:FBlit
C:FBlitGUI
Libs:fblit.library
ENVARC:fblit.cfg

Go to a shell and type "fblit", or double click the fblit executable.  It will then load fblitgui which will bring up the configuration window.  You must then press the "SAVE" button in the window for it to save it's configuration into ENVARC:fblit.cfg

Without the fblit.cfg file FBlit won't do anything (like in your case).

Good luck in getting the include or exclude mode list working though, because it doesn't work for me.  I have to run it in 'include' or 'exclude' mode.  If I add programs to be included, it doesn't include them.  Likewise, the exclusion list doesn't work for me either.
Has anyone else had this problem?  I might as well ask whilst we're on the subject. :)
