3000T Keyboard stops working?

I have an 3000T that after a random amount of time the keyboard stops functioning.  I'm certain it is not the keyboard, I have 2 other 3000's and have swapped out their keyboards (The other 3k's have no issue with the 3000t keyboard either.).  I have tried replacing the CIA's from another 3k with no luck.  I have pulled cards, reseated chips, and even cleaned connectors.  I swapped out all custom socketed chips with another system.

The only telltale sign that is consistant, is when I go to type after the system has been on for some time, the keyboard doesn't respond and if I hit the caps lock key repeatedly the light will go on and off normally for 2 or so times than it will not light anymore. After I hardboot the keyboard is just fine.  The mouse works perfectly fine after the keyboard 'disappears'.

Any help is much appreciated.

It sounds to me like it is the keyboard. Have you been able to test with another keyboard? Probably not due to rarity, I would assume.

This is only a guess, since I know diddly about
how things actually work ... but.....
It sound like it might be a heat problem.....
maybe, if you have a small CPU fan laying around
you could try directing some air at the chip.
(That is whichever chip controlls the keyboard)

I'm quite certain it is not the keyboard.  Have spares that work fine but, still fail on this 3000T and not on my other 2 3k's.

Check the solder connections on the keyboard connector. Worth a shot...

I will point out the Amiga keyboards have a small processor in them

CIA chips and especially connections should be checked though

He said the keyboards work fine on his other
A3k's, so that leaves the machine itself.
Although I've not experienced myself, I have heard
of many ocasions where a chip will work OK
when first booted up but after awhile when the
chip warms up it starts doing some funny things.
Example ... the 040 CPU ( A3640 card) are noted
for this.
Thats why I say put some cooling air on the
chip,  if it stays stable that tells you the problem.
If not then look elsewhere.  Its quick and easy.

check power on the port.
should be 5 volts standard Amiga mice work down to less than 2 volts. keyboards freak much sooner.
since it dies after time sounds like a PSU problem

Big box Amigas have separate 5 volt lines  with a low current line for the ports
if this is going low it would acount for your problems

take out any cards that u can and retest the keyboard.

its also worth checking it may be a software issue as well.
