I've just invested in a new LCD monitor for myself (a BenQ FP731) and can only get a nice (ok, lovely) 1280x1024 16bit screen on my CV643D by using the ADVANCED and ADVANCEDCLK tooltypes in CGX and CGXMode.
Question is, these allow me to "overclock" the card (the pixelclock?) to give the above screen at 60hz but is there any danger of (as I see it) the software making the hardware cook itself? Will the overall life span of the CV643D card be reduced?
Ok, I might not have put it as well as someone who knows what he's talking about, but I hope you get the idea... basically I think I mean to ask - Will using the the ADVANCED tooltypes in CGFX(v4, latest pre.) damage my CV643D graphics card?
Thanks
Jason
